They learnt to thread all the machines. Wind a proper bobbin. Stitch a straight seam.
We had a go at the other stitches on the machines.
Tried a blind hem and a buttonhole. We were very ambitious

The National Gallery of Ireland treated us like royalty when we visited to see the Fredrick William Burton exhibition. We also had a tour of the newly opened gallery which was very impressive and so worth the trip.
Burton's paintings were a joy in real life. The colour and drape of painted cloth gave us plenty of inspiration for our textile project.
